When I started this back in 2008, there wasn't much out there online for LA photo community while NY seem to have a distinct online community. I set up PIX Feed LA to gather together resources for photographers such as studio rental list and assistant list. At the same time I set up a calendar to list local events such as seminars, gallery openings and other events of interest to the photography community. The higher-ups at PIX liked what I was doing and moved me to run PIX's social media platforms. In 2009, I moved the blog to the current platform you see today. Who knew when I started the PIX MySpace page three years ago would lead to me running their social media ?
Though I am employed by PIX, they have pretty much given me free rein with this site. It is a combination of listing of local photography events as well as other tidbits from the photography blogosphere. Simply, this is just a feed of information - hence PIX Feed.
In the physical world, PIX Inc. is a photography equipment sales & rental serving Los Angeles since 1990. We're open 7 days a week and pride ourselves on having some of the longest operating hours - 16 hours a day (weekdays). We provide delivery (starting at $5). Oh, we grill a mean burger.
