When I was 28, I shot the first installment of this project—28 other 28-year-olds. They were close friends, and friends-of-friends, both artists, actors, musicians, scientists, corporate managers and municipal employees. The next year, when I was 29, I shot as many of the first set of 28 as I could, and added an additional subject, making the set “29 at 29.” Now that I’m 30, I’ll shoot the same subjects from last year, and add one, making it “30 at 30.” I’ll continue the same format in the years to come.
