Ying Chu is Beauty & Health Director at Marie Claire, where she oversees all aspects of the editorial process, from researching, planning, writing, and editing to working with visual concepts and photography for the magazine’s print and digital platforms. Born in Taiwan and based in Los Angeles, award-winning photographer/director Yu Tsai approaches his work with a uniquely global eye, taking inspiration from his studies and extensive travels to Africa, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. In their discussion, Chu will chart the ideals of Asian faces as they’ve changed in Western fashion and pop culture over the past century. Tsai will explain how he translates these aesthetics for his commercial and editorial work stateside and abroad.
