Amber & Ashlie Chavez " Alone, Unique or Dying" (8/6)

My twin sister Amber and I started shooting when we were 14 years old. We were greatly inspired by my mother who was a professional photographer. Photography has always been a fine art for us; it was something that we did for ourselves and to inspire others.

Ashlie and Amber Chavez are twin sisters and collaborative photographers. The girls solely shoot analog and have been doing so for the past 10 years. Their first collaboration wasSymbiotic, a delineation of their abnormally close relationship as twins. The girls also work together on commissioned projects- doing shoots of musicians, clothing lines, and professional skateboarders.

Their second solo show is You are not alone, unique or dying. Iit's the first show at Ghettogloss's new location in downtown Los Angeles on Saturday, August 6th curated by newly added curator JenWolf. The show is a photographic exhibition of portraits and documentive photographs, with a treat of a new and extremely meticulous collage series. Cocktails and beats spinning from from 7pm-Midnight. Probably even later...
