Earlier this year, I noticed APA/San Diego were doing laid back casual get-togethers called "APA/SD Focus" at various bars around San Diego. It was a chance for photographers to talk to each other and compare notes in a much looser fashion than the typical organizational events. I wondered online if LA would ever get something similar. I really enjoyed the Slideluck Potshow when it was in Los Angeles but since then haven't seen an event similar until now.
This Saturday ASMP/LA is starting up their first ever "Pints & Pixels Slideshow Party" @ G2 Gallery in Venice. True, not at a bar, but it'll be a chance to show off some of your work and chat it up with fellow photogs. The cost ? Just $5 bucks.
COME PREPARED TO:
- Swap lies, stories, business cards, as you please.
- Eat pizza, maybe some veggies and fruit, maybe some beer and wine.
- Stand up and talk about your images - or not - as you please.
- Wander around the gallery and ignore the slideshow - as you please.
- Show (no more than) 10 slides.
- Or just show up without any images and admire everyone else's work and wonder why you
couldn't get it together to bring your own. Just sayin'.
