Phototasting (7/31)

(photo : Nads' Bakery)

I got this in my Inbox over the weekend about food plus photography = a workshop where you can learn the basics of photography plus try out delicious dishes. The event is run by local LA food bloggers and you can see photos from their last Phototasting posted on Flickr here. Okay, I'm getting hungry just looking through the photos !

Do you like food? Do you like taking photos? Do you like taking photos of food? Phototasting is a unique opportunity to do all of the above with the guidance of several Los Angeles restaurant bloggers and the gorgeous regional Italian fare by Cube Cafe. Not only will you practice capturing the gastronomical splendor of Cube Cafe's menu which changes constantly with the seasons, you will get to sample cheese & salumi from around the globe, and meet the faces behind Cube's pure charm.

This workshop offers simple tips for both point-and-shoot and DSLR cameras and is geared toward photography of dishes in restaurants. Through hands-on demonstrations, you will learn elementary elements of exposure, aperture, shutter speed, ISO, and white balance. The interactive presentation will also introduce basic composition and digital post-production techniques.

LA restaurant/food blogger extraordinaire Daily Gluttony and others will guide attendees through this fun gastrophotoblogging experience.

The event is $50 and can be purchase here. Here's some blog posts about their last event in Feb 2010 -> here and here.
