Stuff to do on Thursday

Here's a list of stuff going on tomorrow. I'venoticed many events seems to be happening on Thursdays and Saturdays so I'll start putting these "Stuff to do" post. As always, you can check our calendar for links and for other days.

+ Montana Avenue ArtWalk - Yup, welcome the newest artwalk to Los Angeles ! I can't keep track anymore- seriously folks ! This one is on Montana Avenue between 7th and 17th Street from 5-9 pm in Santa Monica. I took the liberty of going through the list and picking out photo-related events.

->Aura Boutique on 1528 Montana will have prints from the Peter Fetterman Gallery

-> Engels & Volker real estate at 1123 Montana has photography up from Ana Gibert, George Deloache, Angel Burns, Astor Morgan.

-> Drkrm/gallery/west on 729 Montana currently has Ryan Herz "The Children of Edgewood" on exhibition.

-> Leona Edmiston on 1007 Montana has Laura Killian - Treated photographs

-> Semi-Precious on 1023A Montana has underwater photography of Gisele Lubsen

+ "The Naked Truth" group photo exhibition opening reception. This is the West Coast opening identical to the New York show with addition of West Coast photographers. Held at Hous Projects Gallery (B222) in the Pacific Design Center 6-8 pm. Bert Stern, Robert Maplethorpe, Susan Meislas, Nan Goldin, Tierney Gearon, Renee Jacobos, Steve Goode, Larry Clark, Jesse Finley Reed, Mona Kuhn, Aline Smithson and others

+ Stanley Greene will be speaking at IRIS Nights @ Annenberg Space for Photography in Century City. A founding member of SF Camerawork, an exhibition space for avant-garde photography, Greene has photographed wars and poverty in Africa, the former Soviet Union, Central America, Asia and the Middle East.. The event is from 6:30 - 8 pm and currently booked but there is always stand-by available. FYI : seating for next week's IRIS Night speaker Ami Vitale opens at noon (PST) today as well as 10:30 am tomorrow. LINK

+ A&I in conjunction with Julia Dean Presents Astor Morgan "Lighting the Portrait" from 7-9 pm over in Hollywood. $15/$10 for students.

+ Pro'jekt LA's Summer Series will do outdoor projections of LA music photographers. 7-10 pm in Hollywood. Space 15Twenty. This is the first of three events - happening 4th Thursday until September.
