In the spirit of Smithsonian Museums, who offer free admission everyday, Museum Day is an annual event hosted by Smithsonian magazine in which participating museums across the country open their doors to anyone presenting a Museum Day Ticket...for free.
Here in SoCal, free admission to Autry National Center, the California Science Center, Fowler Museum at UCLA, Hammer Museum, Laguna Art Museum, Museum of Latin American Art, Santa Monica Museum of Art, Grammy Museum, MOCA among others. LACMA, alas, I don't see on the list. You can check your location here. Follow their twitter too @museumday
So it is limited to two people only. You enter your info here, then they email you a ticket to print out. Not valid for special exhibits or parking. Offer is available only for this Sat. Sept 24, 2011. Check their site for full details.
