+ From Matthew Jordan
Today I saw a friends post on FB and thought how important this topic is to discuss. My friends comment was in regard to failing to make powerful images, but many photographers are failing in their business as the photography business becomes harder and harder. Some argue that the photo industry is saturated with more photographers as cameras become easier to use. Yes cameras are getting easier to use but I see that as a plus. Success in photography has never been about the camera and it never will be. True success in photograph comes from much more than just having the latest greatest camera, its about relationships and managing business. The photographers who make the most may not be the absolute best photographers but they are aware of what it takes to become and stay successful in business. Success is about growth and consistently learning to sharpen your skills in all areas.

+ If you missed Larry Towell's talk at IRIS Nights yesterday, he'll also be speaking at the Getty this Saturday at 2:30 pm. SOme of his images are currently on exhibit as part of "Engaged Observers : Documentary Photography SInce the Sixties". All the details are here.
