"Beyond the Camera" @ American Jewish University

“Beyond the Camera”, an exhibition of photographic work by Susan Berkowitz, Marcie Kaufman, Tamar Lando and Sammy Silberstein will be on view at American Jewish University’s Platt and Borstein Galleries from August 29, 2010 through November 21, 2010.

Each artist expresses their unique vision by using photography as a baseline, and taking off from there. Susan Berkowitz’s artistic process focuses on alternative photography methods including Dry Polaroid Transfers. Her images explore the history and metamorphosis of the human condition.

Marcie Kaufman investigates the interconnected relationship of body and landscape through the convergence of painting, photography and digital graphics. Tamar Lando uses a film camera and prints in the darkroom exploring place and time.

Sammy Silberstein creates painterly images in-camera without cropping, retouching or manipulating. He explores the interaction between objects and space and people and space.
