Thursday Briefs

+ I posted earlier this week about Lisa Blumenfeld's Africa exhibition opening tonight over at Perfect Exposure Gallery on 6th St but last night the gallery released this YouTube video. This is the second time in a month I've seen a local gallery use video to advertise of their upcoming exhibition. Possible start of a trend ?

+ Assouline store to open in OC. Assouline Publishing, creator of illustrated books and luxury editions, plans to open a 1,246-square-foot boutique this fall. The publishing house, founded 15 years ago by husband and wife Prosper and Martine Assouline in Paris, favors themes like art, fashion, design, culinary arts, travel and lifestyle. Assouline has stores in Paris, New York, West Hollywood and Las Vegas. Assouline will take over the former Giuseppe Zanotti space, in the Nordstrom wing on level 1 (at South Coast Plaza in OC) (via)
