Tim Mantoani "Behind the Photographs : Archiving Photographic Legends" (2/23)

One of the pleasure I had at MOPLA 2009 was having a chance to see San Diego photographer Tim Mantoani's "Behind the Photographs" series. The idea was so simple. Photograph photographers with their most well-known work. Each man or woman is photographed using am Polaroid 20x24 camera - an amazing camera if you get a chance to see it in person. About a decade ago, there was a 20x24 demo here at PIX and I was lucky enough to get a Polaroid made - which I prompt gave to my parents for Christmas and now hangs in their home in Texas. Anyways, Tim has photographed over 100 photographers for his project so far and you can get a chance to hear him at the Clickers and Flickers dinner lecture series on Feb 23.

Clickers and Flickers has been around for over 20 years and hosts these monthly dinner lectures. C&F members: $49 at least (5) days in advance. $55 less than 5 days prior to the event. Non members: $59 at least (5) days in advance. $65 at the door, only if space is available. For more info contact : 626.794.7447 or DawnHope@ClickersAndFlickers.com
