Events this Weekend (April 3-5)



+ That YouTube video shows some of the images from Eric Nguyen's "Adventures in Tornado Alley" which ends tomorrow Sat (4/4). INFO.

+ Another closing on Saturday (4/4) is the "Imagine" (group photography show) @ Deborah Martin Gallery in downtown LA. 6 - 7:30 pm. My favorite photo there has a very Gail Albert Halaban-feel to it.

+ Culver City Gallery Walk is tonight, Fri (4/3) from 6-8pm. Participating galleries include : Blum & Poe, David Kordansky, Honor Fraser, Kim Light,LA)(ART, Susanne Vielmetter, Taylor de Cordoba and Western Project with speakers Dave Muller (Blum & Poe 6:30 pm) and Walead Beshty ( LA)(ART 7:30 pm)....Food from Kogi BBQ, Tacos Bevida and Green Truck and beer generously provided by Grolsch.

+ Saturday morning, ASPP will have a seminar "Copyright/Copywrong in Image Licensing" from 9 am - noon in Culver City. Though the RSVP deadline was last week, email michaeldmasterson@gmail.com if you are interested.

+ And who can forget MOPLA's official night opening exhibition over at Bergamot Station Sat (4/4) at Frank Pictures Gallery where it will present Alexandra Hedison's "Ithaka" as well as Pro'jekt LA 01 (first of 4) Dark Side: The Anatomy and Topography of Los Angeles at Night with projected photographs by Amanda Friedman, Felipe Dupouy and Helen K. Garber. Starts at 7 pm

+ And while you are over at Bergamot Station, head over to Track 16 Gallery for Sam Cherry : Photographs Of Charles Bukowski, The Black Cat, And Skid Row opening Sat (4/4) night 6-9 pm

+ French still life photographer Erwan Frotin "Strangers" will open Sat (4/4) at M+F from 7-9 pm. This is first US solo show. He has worked with French Vogue, Vogues Hommes International, The New York Times Magazine, Another Magazine, Paradis and Dazed and Confused.
