Magnum / Inge Morath Award (April 30, 2009)
The Magnum Foundation and the Inge Morath Foundation announce the sixth annual Inge Morath Award. The annual prize of $5,000 is awarded by the Magnum Foundation to a female documentary photographer under the age of 30, to support the completion of a long-term project. One award winner and up to two finalists are selected by a jury composed of Magnum photographers.
ASM P NY : Image 09 (May 1, 2009)
Image09 is a nationwide photo contest run by the New York chapter of the American Society of Media Photographers and open to all professional, serious amateur and student photographers residing in the United States. Submit one or more of your favorite images that were created after January 1, 2008. The deadline for entry submissions is May 1, 2009
WIP-Lightside Individual Project Grant (May 15, 2009)
This was originally to deadline May 1st but has been extended by two weeks. Funded by Lightside Photographic Services and co-sponsored by LTI, the $3,000 grant award will provide funding to one photographer to support project costs.
Hey, Hot Shot ! 2009 (May 1, 2009)
Our esteemed panel reviews entries from a diverse body of photographers from all over the world, culminating in the selection of five Hot Shots. The five selected photographers participate in a two-week exhibition at Jen Bekman Gallery. Kicking off with hugely popular opening receptions, these group shows are attended by collectors, critics and cognoscenti. Each selected Hot Shot receives a $500 honorarium to put towards travel, framing or any other exhibition related expenses.
2nd New York Photo Awards (May 1, 2009)
Welcome to the Second New York Photo Awards, which is currently accepting submissions into 14 separate award categories. Winners and Honorable Mentions of the New York Photo Awards 2009 will be presented with their Awards during a Grand Ceremony on Friday, May 15th, 2009 in the St. Ann’s Warehouse in DUMBO. Winners and Honorable Mentions will have their work shown online, printed in the beautifully designed New York Photo Awards Annual 2009, and exhibited at next year’s New York Photo Festival 2010 in the “New Visionaires 2009″ show.
