Translight is one of the few black/white & color darkroom rental in Los Angeles and they also do have a self-served Epson 9800 & G5 for rent too. Lately Translight has been thinking of purchasing some new equipment and Christine, the manager is asking the community which they prefer :
We are currently thinking about purchasing a piece of photographic equipment and would greatly appreciate your input.
The equipment is a Nikon Super Coolscan 9000 or 5000 Edition film negative scanner. The 9000 scans multi-format, the
5000 only scans 35 mm negs.
Our questions to you are: would you support our purchase of this equipment by paying by the hour to use it? which format
would you scan? how much usage would you expect?
As you already know, we have the computer and printer ready to edit and print digital images. This would complete the
equipment necessary for those who wish to shoot film but produce digital output.
Moreover, this would be an excellent way to archive old negatives and to share them digitally.
If you could just send us a quick email on this subject we would greatly appreciate it.
