Monday Briefs

+ Few days ago Wesley Brown of We Can Shoot Too send me a link from the LACMA blog on the photographing of Ardabil Persian carpet. I also noticed there was a Q&A with Peter Brenner, LACMA Supervising Photographer also.

+ Tomorrow night over LADIG (the Los Angeles Digital Imaging Group) will have their August photo event, "Shine the Light on Lightroom" from 7-9 pm held over at A&I Hollywood. Greg Dyro of Warner Bros Lab will talk of various software/hardware hacks for you digital camera and Lee Varis will talk about Lightroom's Library and Develop modules and Daniel Sofer will talk of the Print & Web module. + LACMA's film program ? Could be making a comeback.

+ This Wed, Art Center at Night Open House from 7-9 pm. Curious of taking courses at Art Center at Night ? Then here's your chance to chit-chat with instructors and find out more of their courses. Art Center's South Campus is located at 950 South Raymond Avenue, Pasadena, CA 91105.

+ Oh, don't forget this Thursday is August's Downtown Art Walk which means the following Thursday will be the inaugural Fashion Walk and Broadway Walk. More info on these two events later but the Art Walk runs from noon to 9 though it gets really packed around 8 pm. Info here

+ And if you're not into the Art Walk, Dan Winters is speaking over at Annenberg Space for Photography. Currently all booked up but there is a waiting list. Just show up. Around 15 minutes before the talk, they'll start taking people first come first serve. More info here. 6:30 - 8 pm

  4. I think it's great what Annenberg Space for Photography is doing with these weekly free talks with photographers. No need to go to a convention or art fairs to catch them, just drive down to Century City and there you are !
