ASMP/LA "Ted Schilowitz & The Red Camera" (10/27)

TED SCHILOWITZ, the first employee at the RED Digital Cinema company, will introduce the RED ONE, along with the other cameras in their line.

The RED ONE is a revolutionary HD Video Camera, of interest to still photographers if only because each frame will provide up to 12 megapixel files - in RAW. And that's just from one of the basic cameras with a "smaller" sensor - if smaller is the word to use here. The RED ONE is also known as a 4K camera, with frames up to 4520 pixels wide.

This is 35 mm film quality on video. The camera will accept a wide array of lenses, rails, and monitors. While it's early days yet, RED Cameras are already being used to shoot movies, commercials, and print editorial and advertising projects.

As the world of photography moves closer to video all the time, the RED is one of the game-changers.

Ted will explain how it all works, and then some - including the remarkable story of how the entire system came to be.
