So you heard of the Profoto Pro-8's haven't you ?
Well, if you're curious (and you missed Profoto's last event over at Smashbox) then you get another chance come this December. Profoto has set up two days at two studios (5th & Sunset in West LA and Milk Studios in Hollywood) to showcase their new workhorse.
I admit it, I addicted to Profoto like crack. I don't know what it is about the Swedish .... Profoto, Volvos, Swedish gals, heck I even love Roxette (I'm not kdiding here). I love their Pro-B2 portable packs - I've been using them lately for a book project I'm working on and am pretty dang happy about them.
Photo assistants are invited to get their hands dirty and put the new Pro-8a Air through the paces during a hands-on shooting event. You will see for yourself the unique benefits of the Pro-8a Air. For example, how this amazing generator has the ability, at 500 watt-seconds for example, to keep up with your Canon 1DS Mk III's at 5 fps while emitting a flash duration of 1/4000th of a second. You'll also be able to experiment with various studio lighting setups and see how the Pro-8 Air enables you to adjust ratios and modeling lights remotely, from the camera.
Assistants should bring their own camera to these events to capture images during the events. We will provide the subject matter, you provide the photographic skill.
The days are December 15th for Milk Studios 4 - 9 pm and December 17th for 5th & Sunset 4 - 9 pm. There'll be demos and equipment for you to try out, models & dancers to shoot and refreshments. Heck, take a look what they did over in NYC - awww New York gets all the fun, lol ! No idea how the LA one will turn out :)

Marty, the LA Profoto rep will surely be there to answer questions about the Pro-8a - heck, if I don't see Marty, that be unusual - I've seen Marty at pretty much any Profoto demo and sometimes he drops by PIX to give us demo of new goodies from the MAC group.
