Monday Briefs


+ Pro'jekt LA #2 moves from Bergamot Station to the heart of Hollywood tomorrow night showcasing the images of Cathy Immordino, Joao Canziani, Natasha Calzatti and Sara Jane Boyers. 7-10 pm. Carpool suggested. Subway stop : Hollywood/Vine, Red Line.

+ Melrose Lightspace, a rental studio over on Melrose is starting a monthly mixer on April 10th from 7-11 pm. Info here

+ Lauren Greenfield is looking for a photo assistant as well as interns. Oh, Matthew Jordan Smith is also looking for interns too.

+ FineArtLA.com checks out the Legends of Jazz Photography exhibition over at Fahey/Klein.

+ On Wednesday, Cartopias: Southern California Car Culture, Hot Rods and the Space Age @ USC. In addition to the current photography exhibition "The Space Age Hits the Road: Visionary Car Designs in America", there's also a panel discussion with Petersen Automotive Museum curator Leslie Kendall; Dr. Denise Sandoval, professor of Chicana/o studies at California State University, Northridge, and author of Arte y Estilo: The Lowriding Tradition; and Beth Werling, collections manager of material culture at the Museum of Natural History at 3 pm and a car show. Event runs from 10 am to 5 pm.

+ I slap together a video of the MOPLA opening on Saturday night. At first I was gonna take pictures, then I figured, why not shoot a video ? These G9s are amazing !
