Pieter Hugo "Nollywood" (4/10)

I was unaware that the Nigerian film industry is the second largest in the world next to Bollywood until I started researching Pieter Hugo's images. His series "Nollywood" images may look like stills taken on-set, but they're actually staged to resemble the iconic images and themes in their film industry.

Also on exhibition in the other room is Pieter Hugo's other series "The Hyena Men" series.

Pieter talks about his "The Hyena Men" images in this video.

April 10th - May 29th, 2010

Opening reception: April 10th, 5-7pm

Shoshana Wayne Gallery
Bergamot Station
2525 Michigan Ave., B1
Santa Monica, CA 90404

By the way, if you are in New York, the closing reception for Pieter Hugo's "Nollywood" is tomorrow 6-8 pm (Thursday April 8th) @ Yossi Milo gallery
