Monday Briefs



+ If you missed Andy Freeberg's "Guardians of Russian Art Museums" @ Kopeikin Gallery in WeHo, no worries, a few of the selected works is in their smaller room currently.



+ Photographer Stephen Wilkes set up his camera to take a photo every 10 seconds for a day at Wal-Mart for Fortune Magazine. What I learn is that if I ever go to Wal-Mart, go at 6:17 am and all will be fine.

+ Deadline for ASMP NY's Image 10 is coming up soon (May 1st) so get to it ! Your judges for this year are : Nathalie Kirsheh, Art Director, W Magazine / Katherine Schad, Photo Director, O The Oprah Magazine / Michael Boulia, Creative Director, BBDO / Alex Tasch, Sr. Art Buyer, Euro RSCG Worldwide / Brian Paul Clamp, Gallerist, CLAMPART.

+ Deadline for Foam Magazine's Talent Call 2010 is May 1st. "The best advice I could give is to submit a coherent and consistent body of work that ultimately you are happy with. If a few images are weaker you might want to think about not including them, if this hinders the rest of the project." - Elliott Wilcox. Details here

+ Also May 2nd is the last day to catch "Changing the Focus: Latin American Photography 1990-2005", an exhibiton organized and curated by MOLAA is the first survey exhibition to be presented in the Los Angeles area of Latin American photography and photo-based art generated between 1990 and 2005.
