Events this Weekend (July 3-5)

Folks, not much photo-related events going on this weekend besides all of us taking photos of fireworks ! Oh don't forget that PIX will be closing early today at 6 pm instead of 10 pm for the holiday and is CLOSED for SATURDAY. Don't come over, we're all out BBQing and enjoying the weather :) But PIX is open Sunday 9 am - 5 pm (instead of usual 8 am to 8 pm)

FRIDAY

+ "LA to OC – Emphasis: Extreme" @ Orange County Center for Contemporary Art (OCCCA) . The reception is July 18th but show opens today. Group of nine downtown galleries will have their work shown down in OC. If you've been to the Art Walks in Downtown LA, you've probably seen these pieces already. I know there's a few photography pieces there so if you never made it up for Art Walk from the OC, here's your chance to catch the work...minus the Kogi truck...and the thousands of people who stream through...etc,etc

SATURDAY

+ Julius Shulman & Juergen Nogai @ Craig Krull Gallery in Santa Monica opens Saturday. Did not see a opening reception listed on their site though. UPDATE : Found over here that the reception is from 4-6 pm

+ "Erotica vs. Nudes: Photography" group show @ The Hive in downtown LA. The show is part of The Hive Gallery Group show and Performances. Runs from 8 to midnight or so. Check site for details.

Honestly couldn't dig out much but hey, there's multiple galleries with on-going exhibitions going on as well as local museums ! You'll find a list of galleries to the left (scroll down a bit) that you can just click and see what is up currently. All deal with photography though they may also have other mediums.
