Thursday Random Briefs

+ I haven't been over to Milk Studio's new spot here in LA for a few months now. Last time I was there, workers were busy as bees, The floor wasn't done yet...the walls weren't done yet...nothing looked ready. Today I found on twitter, a blog post with some photos of the new space so check it out here.

+ LA Times film critic Kenneth Turan is not happy over LACMA's closing of their film department. At. All. "LACMA's thinking may seem just fine in the abstract but it doesn't hold up under any kind of examination"

+ Oh, tonight, I'm going to hit the Dan Winters/Robert Coburn opening at Fahey/Klein and later the Smashbox Industry Soiree #5. There is also another opening tonight in Downtown LA at LOOK Gallery : "Leverage" Photos by Lever Rukhin. The LOOK gallery is in the LA Mart, space #111 and goes from 6-9 pm. Info here. ..... The Dan Winters/Robert Coburn is from 7-9 pm and the Smashbox Soiree is from 7-11 pm. Soiree at Quixote Drive-thru Warehouse at 1000 N. Cahuenga Blvd in Hollywood. See y'all there !!!
