Events this Weekend (March 6-8)

Well, first of all there's a few shows closing so let's run through these first. Over at Fahey/Klein, Julie Blackmon and Jeremy Kidd will have their last days on Sat. Over at Kohn, SHE: Images of Women by Wallace Berman and Richard Prince also ends Saturday

Things look light for openings this weekend. If you like hot rod culture, then local photographer Tim Sutton is having his show "Hotrods & Hooligans" over at Gasoline in El Segundo. Info right here. Saturday night 6 pm-10pm. And I suppose in the same vein, local photographer/filmmaker Carlos Batts is showing his film "Voluptuous Biker Babes" at the New Beverly Cinema tonight at 7pm

Also Create:Fixate is having their event Saturday night. C/F have been around for a while. I think I went to one of their first shows at a warehouse in downtown LA many moons ago. It's a strange mish-mash of art & music. I'm really surprised to find out they managed to procure Adam Freeland to perform. Unusual because Freeland is based out of uk and not really in LA that often.

Speaking of music M83 plays with the LA Phil Sat night *sigh* tickets sold out so fast I didn't get a chance to grab one.

If folks out there know of an event, just post it in the comments !

UPDATE : Forgot that it is First Fridays @ the DISTILLERY over in Venice ! Eric Schwabel posted "Now with BEER!... BEER!" on the FaceBook evite. distilleryla.com

UPDATE 2 : John Van Hamersveld retrospective at Subliminal Projects in Echo Park TONIGHT 8-11 pm. John did the Endless Summer movie poster back in the 60s among other things. LINK
