ASPP/PACA "Copyright/Copywrong in Image Licensing" (4/4/09)

The American Society of Picture Professionals (ASPP) along with Picture Archive Council of America (PACA) and the Copyright Clearance Center (CCC) in bringing Nancy Wolff to speak on April 4th in Culver City.

Wolff, counsel to PACA and an expert in the area of image licensing and the law, will present “Copyright/Copywrong in Image Licensing” followed by a Q&A. As a leading authority on copyright, Ms. Wolff examines actual case studies and explains the sometimes complex issues in terms that everyone can understand. The presentation will address:

-the Digital Millennium Copyright Act
-fair use
-what copyright protects and for how long
-what is an infringement
-how the Copyright Act can be used to remove infringing works from the Internet
-when you need additional permissions and why
