Monday Briefs

+ Santa Babara artist/photographer Kip Fulbeck's "Mixed" on exhibit at the Japanese American National Museum in Little Tokyo until Sept. 26, 2010. If you remember, Kip did the Hapa Project a few ago.

+ Found out ICON lab over on Wilshire has a blog now -> http://iconla.blogspot.com/

+ Matthew Jordan Smith looking for interns. If was still a young kid, I would jump at the chance !

+ Photographers ! Cover your equipment if you leave your car. Heard someone broke into a car in Calumet's parking lot just this weekend and stole some gear. I do remember a sign at Calumet urging people to hid their valuables. Keep a spare blanket and cover your gear !

+ Easy Release, the model release app for your iPhone just got an firmware upgrade to 1.5 . Very useful - no need to search for those model releases in your bags. It's on your phone now !

+ Found a new rental studio up in Pasadena to add to the "Photo Studio Rental" list under Los Angeles Resources. The spot is called RMS and has 22x60 shooting space with 18" cove, 15" ceiling. Call Bobby @ 626-405-0922. I posted up the promo card here. Always looking for studios to list so if you know any that isn't on the list, email me -> pixfeed@gmail.com

After the jump, Studio 1444 in Hollywood seeking two folks to share the space with.

+ Studio 1444 (1444 N. Highland Ave 90028) seeking two people to share the space with. Here's the info :

Great for a photographer, videographer, casting agent, producer, artist rep, publication, designer, etc...

The rent would be $2,000 per month, per person.
This would include all utilities (electricity and water), high speed internet access, satellite TV, electricity, a gated parking space for each, office and storage space, as well as a part time studio manager if needed.

There is a 24ft wide White Cyc, Concrete floors, Ample Daylight (and black out as well), Kitchen, Makeup & Wardrobe Room, Client Lounge, 2 bathrooms, Office, Loft, and lots of character. As well as complete 24 hr access to the studio. The studio is completely furnished and had some grip equipment on site, as well as discounted rates on equipment rentals when needed. The history of the space is incredible, please visit our website to lean more: http://www.studio1444.com

Since we are looking to share the space with 2 people, each person would be guaranteed at least 10 days of priority shooting days (if not more), as well as the opportunity to make some money back when we have rental clients coming in on empty days.

The studio currently rents for up to $900 per 10hr day, which would be divided into 1/3 shares ($300) as a profit for each person sharing the space. So...even if you aren't shooting, you can still make some money towards your rent when our regular renters come in. (10 days at full rate = $3,000 profit per person).

WHY? you may ask...

When we built the studio 2 years ago, 75% of our work was shooting in a studio situation. Things changed, clients changed, economy changed, life happened...and now about 75% of what we shoot is location based. So, the studio is not being used most of the time, unless it is being rented...or if we have a rare shoot in studio.
