Imagine @ Deborah Martin Gallery 3/11

Found out that there's a new gallery over in Gallery Row downtown, Deborah Martin Gallery. I know Deborah as we have offices in the same building and was surprised to find out she will have her own spot after running the Spring Arts Collective for the past few years.

“IMAGINE” Juror’s Statement

Selecting thirty-five images out of approximately three hundred and eighty was a great challenge and honor. There were so many fantastic images that were not selected in the end, primarily for the reason that they did not fit the theme as well as others.

I congratulate everyone who submitted and all who were selected to exhibit. Special congratulations to Polly Chandler (first place), Jonathan Luckhurst (honorable mention) and Ann Texter (honorable mention) for their exquisite, thought provoking imagery.

In total, it took me two days to select the thirty-five images for exhibition, and then two additional days to decide the winners. I starred at ten finalist images for hours on end, finally decided on three winners, but wish I could give them all awards.

Thank you all for sharing your wonderful imagery. And thank you to Deborah Martin for championing all artists and making it possible for so many visionaries to exhibit in Los Angeles. I look forward viewing this wonderful exhibition at Deborah’s new gallery space in person and hope to see many of you at the opening.

The grand opening & collector's preview is March 11th 6-9 pm and of course the next day will be the Downtown ArtWalk which runs from noon to 9 pm (depending on individual venues)
